cwjones - 1/28/2015 22:00 The IH engine can run at 3,000 no problem. My 7.3, 6 speed, with 3.73 rear axle will run about 75-80at 3,000 I believe. I would say that a guy might like some lower gears like 3.53 or even in the 3.3 range if they exist!


Are you sure?

6 speed manual had a 0.72 top gear.  At 80mph with 3.73 gears and 265/75R16 tires you would theoretically be at 2,300RPM.
