Subject: RE: CASE IH steiger 450

Central IL
I pulled a 20 knife (50') case IH nh3 toolbar with my 350 Steiger with 18.4 46's and 2000lbs of rear wheel weights. Traction was not an issue, 6-8" deep and 6.5-7.5 mph. Anywhere from standing bean stubble to disc ripped corn stalks. But... I also have a 450 that has 710x42's with 2000lbs rear wheel weight as well. Traction is not an issue with this either but I would think with only 20.8's you would run out of traction much quicker than power. But for just a 17 knife toolbar you shouldn't need any weight. Anything that would pull harder traction will quickly become an issue. Clear as mud?
