Blue Earth, MN | We put 6 behind a 5k gallon Calumet this fall. We really looked hard at the VTI but just wasn't convinced the manure was getting in the ground well enough.
They pull fairly hard but ours were running 8-9" deep too.
They will get 10k gal per acre in the ground and you won't see any on surface.
We went in corn stalks. Our residue levels this year weren't as high as normal with our devastating hail storm in June. We went at an angle. Stalks were also Calmerized. Didn't have many issues. Tried blu jet closers on a row. I like the BJ closer with a mole knife. We strip till after manure application is the reason why we go at an angle.
Overall I like them.
