Thanks for the replies. This is not something to just jump into and I realize that. It's just in the "idea" stage now and not planning yet. Yes I do like beef cows. the problem in this area anyway is finding enough pasture to run enough to make a living on. Most of the land here is good crop land. The available pasture is mostly 10 acre chunks that can't be cropped. The ideal pasture land is owned by Uncle Sam and his bastard child DNR.. The few bigger beef guys are going up to 100 miles for nice pasture. I do really like working with cattle except for pulling teats every day (it's just not my favorite thing to do day in and day out) I enjoyed everything else about it though. Just want to get a feel for what guys with more experience think about it. Thanks and keep it coming!
