Subject: Semi-permanent fence ?

WC Illinois
I may have finally found some pasture to rent to run my cows on this summer (April-August). Like any pasture that is left in this area it has a little decent fence, a lot of fence that is shot with trees starting to grow in it, and some areas where the fence has been taken out. I could go in and build fence but Im leary of investing a lot of time and money until I know this will be a long term arrangement. I have enough poly wire and small fiberglass posts to fence it that way and Im thinking of trying that. Will I be happy with a single or double strand of poly wire in this situation? I have had no trouble keeping my cows in poly wire on corn stalks but I thought it may be a different story in the summer when things are green? If they get out its miles of crops with no fences left and a busy state highway. On the bright side it is pretty close to home so I will be able to keep an eye on them. What do you all do? TIA
