Near-north Ontario, French River | I agree, the OP shares some responsibility in this. To be clear the co-op screwed up but some oversight by the OP probably would have prevented the situation. Could have been as simple as instructing the spreader operator to do the hay fields first. We farm around a lot of greenhouses so spray drift is a HUGE consideration. When we book spray jobs with the our co-op we ALWAYS point out neighbouring crops, and will often request a specific field be done first, in the morning before wind picks up, after that just work down the list. I will say however that the ultimate go/nogo call is made by the operator. |
