I have not applied any fertilizer yet. I am on a 50/50 corn bean rotation. Running the numbers I would be more profitable( or lose less money) if I would not apply any fertilizer except nitrogen. I can probably yield 170 with just nitrogen, but if I push the fertilizer 210-230 is a real possibility under the right conditions. I am having a hard time not trying to produce the highest yield but it does't pencil out. Any ideas on how to solve my dilemma? Thanks, Dave


You don't have to shoot for the moon, but can you really afford to mine your own soils out? Unless you are planning to sell it soon?
