Subject: Corn or Beans for no-tilling into hay ground?

I have a small piece of aged, tired hay ground (orchardgrass and what little alfalfa remains) that is overdue for some renovation. I would like to plant either corn or beans.

All the locals would moldboard plow it and disc it. There are no no-tillers near me to speak of. I had another similar field that was 'broke' with the plow after 3+ years in orchardgrass and alfalfa from a previous owner and you should have seen all the worms.. it was beautiful dirt. The soil is a silty loam, on the moist side, CEC about 10.

I'd like to try no-tilling into it. It was cut and baled for hay last fall and the height going into spring will be minimal. I have a JD 7000 6-row planter w/ dry fert boxes.

My questions:
-Corn or beans for this situation?
-Burn down first or plant then spray with roundup?
-Seed treatments?
