Subject: Ammonium Thiosulfate as N stabilizer

Jackson County, AL

We have been using Amthio for the last 20 years or so primarily as an N stabilizer.  We have been told more than once that it did no such thing and we are likely going to use some Agrotain this year instead and get our S from our dry blend.  So how many others use the Amthio with their N to help stabilize it?  We use it at a rate of 90.8% 32%N and 9.2% Amthio.  Don't ask how we came up with the formula, it was just the best way to get the recommended rate and enabled us to mix it by weight with the truck sitting on the scales.
