Another good thing to know is your metabolism.
For example, mine is 2300 calories per 24 hour period, doing nothing. Add physical activity on top of that to come up with total calories burned in one day.
Some doctors have a device that measures your CO2 output and after that is known, they can calculate your metabolism.
