It was actually a free promotion from Apple when they upgraded the operating system last fall (timing is fuzzy in my mind). Apple made a deal with U2 to give songs away for free, and then put them into everyone's accounts. 

From all the bad reaction I've read about, Apple botched that one. Remember the 1984 Apple Superbowl commercial? I'd say Apple is now Big Brother. What a role reversal!

Wow. That's big. You're saying Apple is using the U2 music to collect data for the government? That's the only way to make sense of why you included that link in this thread.
