"Here", the summer sausage that would cover a piece of bread is labeled 'salami'. Tastes pretty close to the same to me. I know different areas call the same thing different names, so YMMV.

I really like the meat products from here- http://www.maplewoodmeats.com/ but I don't think they ship.

Edit-the oven-baked summer sausage recipe I posted a little down the page is, IMO, a very acceptable substitute. Easy to make, low priced, and pretty darn good.
