| Every so often, I search for mention of my dad's plane, the B-17 "Hard Luck" on the internet, and last night I found this forum with a post I can't locate again. A man had downloaded photos his dad had taken in England of B-17's and the first two were of the "Hard Luck". I believe they were posted in 2012. My dad flew as a tailgunner on the "Hard Luck" from Thorpe Abbotts
in Norfolk, England on 28 missions. Crew member Earl Benham had written about their experiences in his book -With Crew 13. In later years, Dad went to several 350th Bomb Group Reunions, and got reacquainted with almost all of the old crew. All of them have now passed away, including Dad.
