It sounds like you have either the Internet Security or the Total Protection version. My experience with "Security Suites" is that they cause more problems than they prevent. I say uninstall McAfee and get something else. Norton is OK, and I've had good luck with ESET NOD32. Whatever you get, though, I recommend that you get the version that's just Antivirus and doesn't include a firewall, browser protection, and all the other junk.
