Had saved some corn in the field to shell then bale for the stalks. Finally got a window of weather that would work. Shelled on Thursday, baled today.

I decided to go with the Garvo method, didn't mow, didn't rake, just followed the separator rows of the combine. My 9500 (8 row) has dual spinners on the back, so I just drove over the row where the rear combine steering tire went. Then came back down where the other steering tire was. Figured that way, I wouldn't take too much off the field, and I wouldn't pick up too much dirt.

It was a little sticky, first time in stalks for me, baler was used but new to me for 3rd cutting this year.

Thanks for all the suggestions and advice! I was happy with the result.

Edit...was 200 bu/ac residue.
