I would have to disagree with you. We have all three types finger, vacuum, and air. I think the finger is the most complicated with all the moving parts in them. I rebuild a lot of meters and planters, I would agree that for a farmer to just drop a pin in the hitch and dump the bag in and go is simple. They all can do an excellent job, but once a finger meter wears their is a lot can go wrong inside to affect signulation.
