Near-north Ontario, French River | ohhh BS. I don't know a single 'dirt poor' farmer that didn't get that way on his own, by over spending and living dangerously. Sure there are times that we as farmers don't have a lot of cash in our pockets but lets not forget the assets we have instead. I'd gamble and say that the majority of the regular posters here at NAT have 6 and 7 figure balance sheets( probably even a few here with 8 figures) , even the little guys. Amazing how fast we as farmers can go from living large to crying poverty, wasn't much more that 6 months ago that guys were running up rents and living large.... if you are truly dirt poor after the last 5 yrs you have no one to blame for yourself.. granted there are isolated pockets that have suffered in the last 5 yrs but for the vast majority of us the last 5 yrs has been a gold rush... probably the best times we will see for the next 20 yrs.
