Do you put on an extra % of N? And if so, when? Or do you fertilize earlier in the year? Or is it a placement issue? Or is it all of the above and more? One person may starve to death before they test all the possibilities. Has anyone done any tests? I know it's going to depend upon the species in the mix, your location, and the termination time. But if the mix had a higher C:N ratio and planted a grass behind it, that should show up first.
