What are you getting for $5200? That seems like a weird number to me.
What are you doing on the farm? As a dealer I don't dictate what my customers should be using, but I do try to match up their needs to what I have. Assuming your dealer is trustworthy he thinks it would be advantageous for you to use RTK.
What machine is it going on?
What steering system does that machine have?
What implement is it pulling?
How far is the base station you will be working off of?
Can you put an RTK system on something and make sure you have access to the signal in your fields without deadspots?
Sorry for quoting your text. Just wanted to be sure to answer your questions.
Seems like the $5200 was broke down by $3500 for licensing and $1700 to upgrade monitor.
We will use it in the tractors (8345r and 8225r) primarily, but also combine potentially. It will be used to plant, sidedress, drill wheat, spread fertilizer, and fall tillage work. Everything but the drill and tillage is variable rate and we use section control in most applications.
The dealership has base stations spread throughout our area layed out in an overlapping design.
