The main difference is that the 250 is just for basic lightbar and some assisted steering with the EZ Guide. The 500 has recently been replaced by the FM750. The 500 will run Autopilot vehicle guidance, and is the most basic entry into implement section control as well.
The T2 module is what allows the mapping to compensate for changes in terrain.
