SE MN | My wife, kids and I are in a similar situation as you are. We currently do not live on our farm and plan to move, probably into the existing house that is there, but it needs some work. However, if we were to build a new one…and we've been doing quite a bit of talking and thinking about what we will do if our ideas and/or the condition of the old house make it unfeasible to renovate it…this is the floor plan we found that we liked very much. My wife likes 1.5 or 2 story houses and I do too, but we would also want the possibility of single level living if the need arises. In this plan, we would actually use br 2 upstairs as the master until we needed more room for kids and then probably move to the main floor. Until we would need it, the main floor master bedroom would be a guest/in-laws room. I also want a mud room which we would have built into the plans.
