Nebraska | In my own experiements, SMS needs the following 2 things. CLOCK SPEED of the processor, 3.4ghz+ is best Number of cores nor size of cpu cache matters. The program can only use at maximum 3gb of ram because it's 32 bit. I don't think i've ever seen SMS use more than 2gb ram
The other thing SMS will benefit from is a SSD Solid State Hard Drive. I'm not talking about a hybrid drive either.
I have run SMS on 4 computers with 4 different era's CPU's in a head to head run the same analysis in Advanced and the winner was the CPU with the fastest clock speed.
The SSD has much faster read/write times which SMS does often.
