Cedar Rapids, Iowa | CORS can transport the correction data around the world, but the transport part isn't what limits the range. The maximum distance that you can get an RTK fix is entirely dependent on what rover you have and how good the RTK engine is in it. Some receivers have a hard limit at a certain distance, most will make a best effort.
The farthest distance I've ever successfully gotten RTK was 39 miles from a base, using a NovAtel OEMV receiver. It took 30 seconds to get RTK fix, normally is more like 5 seconds with a close base. I tried another base at 59 miles away and never got to RTK with that one. I should also note that the accuracy you get will decrease as you get further from the base. At 39 miles it was within about 4 inches horizontally, akin to OmniStar XP.
Generally speaking, figure on 20 miles from the base for horizontal work like autosteer and section control. If you want to do vertical stuff like tile, you'll want to be as close to the base as possible.
