It's not that it's "harder" in Basic, both require you to find the shape files and be able to assign the correct attributes. However, once you import one and save a template with Advanced, you can do all the rest in one shot with Batch Import. 

With Basic, you'd also import one and make your template, then read the rest in one by one while using that template each time. 5 fields that's not a big deal. 500 fields and that's hours worth of work saved. Advanced is more efficient when it comes to many functions.
