S.E. Sask. | Red/Green - 11/26/2014 18:05 Ralph, how many acres do you have that is under water now that you used to be able to farm?
A rough figure is from 10 to 25 percent loss on most quarters. The worst one used to have 125 arable acres and now just 75 acres are workable. There are a few more acres that could be worked but we just can't get there without driving through water. Everyone I talk to in the area agrees that if we get even normal snowfall this winter we are going to have even more problems next year. Every slough is full of water and creeks were running til freeze up a little over a week ago. It gets worse as you go East. |
