Dad passed away 30 years ago today. I still miss his humor and advice. He had been run over by a horse drawn disc and suffered a broken leg. They set it wrong and he always walked with a slight limp. He carried pliers in a side pocket of his bibs and they would clank in a certain way. The other day I was in a shop and somebody put pliers in their pocket and they clanked taking me back for a moment.
He didn't like horses but bought several for me as a kid. The only time I saw him cry was when I said goodbye and left for the army.
He was the last of 14 children.
The color picture was a black and white that I colorized.
