Coles County, Illinois | I've never been a marginal revenue = marginal return guy so the price of corn hasn't effected my program near as much. With the level of production in recent years Dry fertilizer expenses have actually increased slightly. I'm fighting resistant waterhemp so I don't see the chemical program expenses declining either. The weather has moved NH3 application to next year and I may consider sidedressing to improve efficiency. Last year, I saw no yield difference between Fall and spring applications. A local fertilizer dealer is planning on stocking AMS and if I decide to sidedress I may have some applied preplant. | |
