Subject: insurance claim on hired man at work injury

Hired man had something fall on his foot and broke a toe. Honest mistake, it happens. I don't wear steel toes either, but did buy a pair now. Anyway, I am insured so I take the medical bills to my insurance company. Agent indicates that since it is "only" $500 total, he thinks it would be best for me to just pay it.

I hear this and wonder why I have the insurance if I don't use it. I did have a vehicle claim, but they are still way ahead of me.

Thoughts?

Edit: deductibles do not apply for this.
