N FLA | I don't mean it transfers ownership free. I mean it rents free, saves owner a lot on taxes with Ag exemption. We have 40 acres free. No water so we really can't use it, and we have enough irons in the fire not to put a well on somebody elses place. Owner wanted $50 the 4th year. I get a lot of calls at the county extension office with landowners seeking renters for cutover land but nobody really wants to use it. I think with cotton and peanut prices the same will be said for cropland.
Also, given all this additional information, it sounds like a good opportunity. If you broaden your scope a little you can find some really nice bred cows for much less than $2500. I'd say $1800 will buy the best North Florida has to offer. | |
