Thumb of Michigan | From what I can determine, the blood drawn is placed in a centrifuge, spun for a while, and the platelets separate out. I believe (and I'm not at all positive) that the platelets are whats injected in the sore joint.
This is all new to me as of about a week ago. Like many things, the 'net has a lot of info- but its viewed as experimental yet. I have one neighbor who had it done about 3 weeks ago, and so far is doing well with it. The 2 neighbors who got the treatment last Friday are feeling better as of yesterday. The research I found says stuff like the its new enough to not be proven, but that it probably won't hurt anything either.
I'm thinking that it may be worth looking further into if it keeps me from getting a knee replacement. Or at least prolongs it. | |
