Management zones can be easily made from the vegetation biomass from an image using a NDVI, or NIR biomass reading. This is commonly done for VRA soil testing and application map. Zones are delineated and automatically vectorized by any level of detail to drive a controller for VRA application whether for seed, chemical or fertility reasons. The vegetation defines the productivity of the crop and defines how the crop is affected reveals the anomily. Vegetation biomass management zone maps have been commonly done with imagery for nitrogen application in the upper plains for over 15 years.
