I have a friend that as bought a rogator rg700 and wants to put in a pro 700 strictly for guidance. Is this possible? If yes what does he need to make it all work?
Theoretically, yes. Case IH sells an "All-Makes" system that allows the AFS AccuGuide system to be installed on non-Case IH machines and older Case IH equipment. However, Rogators are not on the supported vehicles list (http://www.caseih.com/en_us/AFS/Documents/AFS_GuidanceCompatibility_5Apr12.pdf), so this would be a completely-on-your-own-and-at-your-own-risk install, and would likely involve quite a bit of assistance from a *competent* dealer.
He would need a Trimble Autopilot platform kit for the Rogator model in question, along with a Pro 700, CNH NavII controller, 372 receiver, All-Makes harnessing, and All-Makes activation code. Just in parts, he'd be approaching $15,000 if he's starting with a bare Rogator and only has the Pro 700. That's for a WAAS-level system, and I'm SWAG-ing the price of the Autopilot kit. Add installation, accuracy unlocks, dealer time to tune and calibrate, etc, and it's not a cheap venture anyway you cut it.
Unless he's really committed to the Pro 700, I might recommend an FM-750 with EZ-Pilot.
