Had a 555a until a car hit it at 70mph... Anyway, they work fine, shanks are easy to change when they bend. See if it has the newer style shanks as opposed to the older flat bended ones, either are fine just newer ones wear better. If it has the knife edge rolling basket in wetter soils at under 5mph you will have plugging issues in clay or heavier soils. It is a good unit, frames a touch on the light side compared to newer models. One thing to remember is that that is a older machine, if you break a rockshaft for example you will end up having to make one, bigger parts are not available anymore. Common parts are still ok (ie springs, shanks).
