A lot of belts run without spring tension devices. Modern V belts don't have much stretch to them. I bet you don't have to mess with tightening much. Bigger pulleys give more forgiveness but add to cost.


Make sure you do your homework, if you do not have the proper voltage, you could screw up many of the electric
motors, appliances, and other things like computers, TV's, etc.

Looks like trouble to me, especially if you are not home to run things.
