Alberta | Sorry I read your original post a bit closer, I see you have 5000 +/- to combine. In my neck of the woods we have a short season so to give you a perspective, my NEIGHBOR has 2 680's that handle 4500acres very easy. My other NEIGHBOR has 3500 acres and does it alone with a 690 but his hands are very full to say the least. If he is waiting for a cart or truck he's fuming mad lol. But it can be done, if you have a longer season and plenty of support help (auger, cart, trucking etc) you could probably do your 4 to 5000 acres with a 690, and maybe only have to hire out a minimal amount. A few colonies in our area have 4- CX 8080's NH for 10,000 acres so they are banking on 2500ac per combine the 8080 is relatively small class 8 compared to a 680 deere, another colony south of us has 3 CR 9090 new Hollands for 10,000 acres so I guess it matters your season and conditions. Next year we are doing 3000 with one big one. | |
