Tip of the Thumb of Michigan | Wow. What a year. Mentally exhausting for sure. We harvested corn for 25 days, plus 3 more helping a neighbor. It hasn't taken more than 21 since 1992 and usually takes 14-17 days. Yields were high and so was the moisture. We averaged 32% over the whole harvest. We were only able to dry 20 acres a day on average. We did have our best overall average, beating our old one my 10bu./acre. The truck holds about 1900 bushel. The rotary parlor is the 3rd mega dairy a local farmer has put up. It holds 100 cows and take 10 minutes to go around and cost $3 million. My hired mans brother took us on a tour one rainy day.
