I also cannot believe what people leave on their plates at restaurants. I either eat everything on my plate or take home what's left. I have a hard time leaving anything on my plate.(probably why I'm overweight)  I'm not sure if we had to clean up our plates when we were children, but I don't remember wasting much with 8 people at the table.
