Years ago the wood stove cost an extra $100 a year on the insurance. I think I even shopped around and all the companies had large extra charges for the riskier fuel. Corn should not be any more risky than a possible gas leak, but like other have said if they do not know about the corn stove the could weasel out of paying in case of a fire.
