| Next year will be my first year actually farming with out being partnered with my Grandad. He decided he wanted to just sit back and rent me his ground. Farming is something I have always wanted to do and I will have about 200 acres. However with no help now I am going to have to do all the work myself. Before I have always had a fulltime job and helped in the evening and on the weekends. There are several farmers around that I can help during the busy parts of the year and help provide income, but I still will need income in the slow time, primarily the summer June through august and then in the winter November through march. I have debated buying a good semi and start trucking some my slow times to help with income, but I don't really want to be gone from home to much. What would some other good ideas be for the slow times to help make a living? | |
