NEW LONDON—Two men were injured as the result of a crash with a tractor hauling farming equipment Thursday evening in New London.

A pickup truck and semitrailer traveling northbound on U.S. Highway 71 reportedly collided with the tractor traveling northbound on the highway, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Corey S Sorenson, 33, of Sauk Centre, the driver of the pickup truck, was extracted from the pickup truck and airlifted to St. Cloud hospital for what were described as non-life-threatening injuries.

Sorenson’s passenger, Alexander W Blonigen, 19, of Freeport was transported to Rice Hospital for what were also described as non-life-threatening injuries, according to the state patrol.

The driver of the semi, Steven A Gotto, of Oto Iowa and the driver of the tractor, Travis J Peterson, 20, of Blomkest were reportedly not injured.

The semi reportedly first collided with the farming equipment that spanned about 25 feet. The pickup truck following behind the semi also collided with the farming equipment that crossed into the northbound lane.
