I'll try to summarize the previous posts and add some experience.  You can run an electric motor with FieldIQ but you need to use a PWM driver to vary the speed of the motor.  I'd still recommend getting power directly from the battery as the FieldIQ harness is sensitive to power irregularities and powering the PWM driver (and motor) off the FIQ harness could lead to errors and frustration.
