Pat, isn't hindsight great? The real issue here is you have a steering kit (valve block) designed for the Magnum, that  is a closed center, load sensing system. The Gator is an open center, high-flow system that would not even require a counter-balance valve in the system. If you really want it to work well, look for a valve block that was on an open center 4x4 tractor. It will be high-flow, enough to handle the double cylinders. If you need the install instructions for the gator let me know - I can e-mail to you, it will have the part number of the valve you're looking for.
