I have removed it, and rebooted several times. It is a wireless/usb mouse. Problem that is throwing me is that this mouse is one I have used on the laptop since new. I tried a wired one with the same problems, and the mousepad on the keyboard had the same problem.
The computer's hard drive is about full, I am thinking this is a symptom (random) of that issue.
