Can you imagine what that must do to a small calf though. Bare footed on damp ground with a wet nose. You would think it would kill them.



I wouldn't worry. Once when my oldest son was about 1 1/2 he was playing in the pasture while I was feeding cows. He got bored and went exploring. When he got to the electric fence he lifted it with both hands and walked under it. I was after him by then and I thought what the heck who unplugged the fencer? So I grabbed it and got sent halfway to the moon. Moral to the story --- smaller critters get a smaller jolt due to less body mass I guess.
