How big of a sample are you taking ? Are you sending in vials of blood ? Did a vet teach you the procedure ? How much is the cost of testing ? What lab are you guys using ? Thanks
2cc minimum the bigger vacuum vials work better because of more vacuum. Cost a bit more to send to labs. Costs about $3.50/hd for lab work freight and supplies. I've had lots of practice IVing cattle so I was able to jump right in. Big cattle is usually a snap 90% of them you don't even have to search for the jugular just poke. I'll be doing 100hd for my hired hand see if I can snap some pics or a video. Tested a bunch of marked open cows last weekend that were over 100 days bred. They were either palpitated or ultra sound tested before I blood tested them. I have always been convinced that most vets are hacks now I have proven it. |
