Lancaster, OH | I feel there should be a mandatory quarantine. The risk of exposing too many people too quickly outweighs anything else.
I can't find the post but it was great, you can't transport an animal across state lines without a health inspection that certifies the animal clean within a short period of time. You can't bring an animal across our national border without a quarantine period in a government facility.
We have done a great job of controlling infectious diseases here recently. If you go back 100 years, think of the impact of the Spanish Flu. That's what we are dealing with here, a very infectious disease without good tools to treat or cure. Without those tools, quarantine is the best management tool.
