We made a similar mixed cover crop for baleage a couple years ago (forage oats and millet vs just oats). We mowed it one day and baled it late the next. I don't remember it being as sappy as the sorgum sudan we made at the same time. Now this was done in August on sand ground so keep that in mind. The cows and calves at the heck out of the cover crop mix feed.
