Depends on your wind protection where it is built. My yard is protected by enough I wouldn't worry about it, but it isn't the norm and you have to get in the habit of closing them every time you leave. My shop was built in 80 and been fighting sliding doors in it til now. They are going to put an overhead door that goes over the rafter so I don't lose any headroom, as money and dad's death let us build the fourteen high instead of the sixteen. Curvet buildings do it all the time, I think, and maybe extending a wall out to cover the door is an option. Mine was sixty wide and the door was twenty four. I had a thirty on the side, though.
