My dad used to have a 1460 that had this trouble. He would take out the impeller wear bars and build them up a bit with the welder and the problem was solved. Didn't worry too much about making them smooth. The problem occurs when the impellers won't grab the material and pull it away from the feeder chain. Currently I have a 2188 with a rock trap in it. The impellers are wore really bad, but I still don't have feeding problems. It seems the rock trap beater probably helps too.
