Strathcona, mn | Our local shuttle loader has shipped 50% of last years beans and most of those were contracted beans. The market has shut off farmer selling up here. Bins are full of wheat and beans and will find a home someday, I asked what dollar figure that would be but our buyer didn't know? Pretty easy for a rr to keep up when we only ship 1/2 of normal. What happens if we get a winter like last winter and a bean harvest that wants to move in January-March time period? Perfect storm? Our guys at the shuttle loader are twitting their thumbs waiting for beans to come in the door but farmers aren't selling. It's been a good thing for freight and freight rates, I hope it holds.
